I want an outside eatery with cheap beer and wine, great BBQ food and a ton of room for my kids to run around. This is what I said to my wife one day as we drove aimlessly around town looking for a place to munch.
“I don’t want to go there, we always go there. That place is too expensive with small portions. That’s not the food I want.”
Does this sound familiar? If you live in Temecula, you’ve most likely said this a few times.
Many moons ago, my family and I drove down 5th street and pulled over next to Julls BBQ and Dog House. They weren’t open yet, meaning they were still building the place, but it was interesting enough to get me to stop the car, get out and take a peek.
BBQ Tri Tip, Hot Dogs, beer and wine, a stage, ping pong and my favorite – a horse shoe pit. The park like benches and seriously long belly-up bar with stools on either side makes it ripe for a party, day or night. With our hot summers, long evenings, warm nights, we knew this was going to be one of our homes away from home.
The owner, Jull, is extremely friendly. She knew my wife’s name after only her second visit (I wasn’t there).
Food is terrific, beer and wine are seriously reasonable ($4 and $3 for a big cup) and the horse shoe pit is regulation.
Keep a seat open, make that 4 seats! See you there.

Jonas-
Somehow stumbled on your website looking for a kid friendly place to take my daughter to tonight. Looks like you do more than just loans! Speaking of that, will keep in touch to let you know what my wife and I decide to do.
Mike
Mike,
Great to hear from you, also great to hear you stumbled on my site looking for restaurants. Julls is great, very low-key, bring a jacket as you’ll be sitting outside, but your daughter will love it. We bring a soccer ball and kick it around in the grass. Ping Pong can get a little tough with tables all around. Nothing wrong with free popcorn and peanuts while you let your kid run around and get that energy out. Have fun! Wish I was goin’ tonight.
